The Horus Chapel is nearly finished now. It greatly resembles the chapel in the Temple of Sety I, only in The House of Life the colours are still visible. Just like magic. Inside, it feels like you go 3000 years back in the mysteries of that time. Come, see and experience it yourself.
The desert sand contains at some places special minerals and healing energy. The House of Life resort has a quiet place in the desert where the sand is of high quality. At the end of the day you will lie in the warm sand and your body will be covered with sand. You will lie there for ca one hour and we will have a team to take care of you during that time. This is a meditative and cleaning process that touches your whole body. After an hour you will be helped to get out of the hot sand, wrapped in blankets, drink tea, take a shower and rest. Dependent on the intensity of the complaints the number of treatments would vary between 5 and 9. After two treatments we usually take a break of a day. As a consequence we advise you to book a healing tour of at least two weeks. The days you may further use to visit the temple of Sety I and Ramses II or make some excursions to your choice. Be aware that the treatments will touch you intensively
These treatments were used by the ancient Egyptians to keep them healthy.
Atmosphere of ancient Egypt also thanks to the work of Abdel Rasol
He is famous in Egypt because of his work that resembles the way of working of the ancient artists that made the beautiful temples in Egypt. We are glad he is bringing that culture to life again in our project on many spots like the pillars in front, the reception desk, Merit Amun and the chapels. Come, see and be surprised that the ancient culture is reviving so vividly in this center.
The impact that Abydos and its temple have on people dates not only back to the ancient pilgrims but is of all times as you can read in old guest books of the Temple.
Just three examples:
A group from Krefeld Germany testifies on October 20 1974
“This Temple in Abydos shows more of ancient Egyptian culture than most of the Temples in Egypt, especially the marvellous walls in the part of Sethos I”
A group from the university of Copenhagen reports three days later:
“The Temple of Sety I is one of the most impressive monuments of all Egypt particularly because of its beautiful colours and unusual details. The guards are kind and hospitable and with a few more facilities like a small rest house this place would be really marvellous”.
In 1976 the temple was visited by a group of world leaders among whom the Aga Khan and the Prince of Denmark.
